I have been a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) since July of 2010. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a Minor in Nutrition. I've trained all ranges of clients from severely deconditioned to college athletes and everything in between. I am a kind and compassionate trainer who will work tirelessly to get you the results you're looking for.
I recently achieved a weight loss goal of 100 pounds in January of 2019. I went from over 100 pounds of fat mass to 24 pounds of fat mass in 15 months. Once I started incorporating training every day I put on 10 pounds of lean mass reshaping and hardening my body. I learned how to effectively combine exercise and eating Keto to melt fat and build lean mass. I will put you through some of the same workouts that have gotten me the radical success.
I provide a unique training experience that isn't just about burning calories. We take a look at your situation as it stands right now and the circumstances leading up to where you're currently at. While we're working out we uncover a version of you that you didn't know existed. We dig deep and focus on the positive. We work through challenges and celebrate victories and progress no matter how small.
I will design a unique and highly tailored exercise program that includes activities that you enjoy and are realistic to keep successful momentum going. This program will be very specific to your body type, personal interests, and exercise history. We will accomplish your goals effectively, efficiently, and safely. I will provide you with one on one motivation and support. I will show you how to correctly lift weights (if you're into that) and which cardiovascular activities best suit your body type and your fitness goals.
There are several options available for you to choose from depending on your fitness goals, exercise experience, and budget. If you’d like to experience a challenging workout and get some ideas that you can implement at home on your own and/or you’ve got questions on what strategy is best for you to achieve results a single session may be a great start.
After a tough AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) Workout - “This workout kicked my butt. I went though it 4 times and I didn’t want to get up after the last set. Thank you, Melanie Pederson, for being tough, a pain in my ass, and the biggest inspiration and person could ask for.
I started working out to prove people wrong that said I wouldn’t do or stick with it and once I let that anger go and started doing it for myself, I’m amazed at what I can do. Yes, it’s been a struggle and there are days when all I want to do is eat bread but I got this!!” Kristie S

Maybe you’ve just started working out and you’re curious as to how much work you actually need to do or what your starting point is. Maybe you’ve put in the work already, now what? Having your body composition done at regular intervals is an integral part of monitoring progress while losing weight. The scale is easy to obsess over, but it’s not even close to being an accurate depiction of how far you’ve come or if your current nutrition and exercise strategy is working. The scale will never tell you if it’s not budging or it’s going up because you’re trading fat mass for lean mass. I’ll be able give you metrics on weight, fat mass, lean mass, and water weight. We will discuss your results and you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you want.
